Chelsea beat Fulham to win Premier League Summer Series
A comfortable victory over Fulham saw Chelsea win the inaugural Premier League Summer Series.
Thiago Silva and Christopher Nkunku got the goals in the first half in Maryland and saw the Blues finish two points clear at the top of the table in what was a winner-takes-all encounter.
It was a fairly uneventful start to the game before Silva rose highest to head home from a corner in the 20th minute.
Christopher Nkunku then doubled the lead shortly before the break with a simple tap in and Mauricio Pochettino's men never looked back.
Chelsea's new manager made nine changes at half-time but they remained in control and Fulham relied on some last-ditch defending to prevent the scoreline getting worse.
Chelsea finish the Summer Series with two wins and a draw, having previously beaten Brighton and shared the points with Newcastle.
Their final pre-season fixture is against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday in Chicago.
The team will fly north to Illinois on Sunday night to begin their preparations for that game.
Speaking after lifting the trophy, Pochettino said: Always it is good to win, I am so pleased again with the performance and the work of the players from the start.'
The Chelsea manager went on to add: It is a busy time but I think we are doing a good job, the players and the staff.
It has been a busy four games in a very short period of time and now we play in Chicago against Dortmund and we need to continue.
We keep going and prepare the team to arrive in the best condition for the Premier League.
