TV-maker Vu Technologies is aiming at a three-fold jump in turnover to Rs. 300 crores in 2015-16 on the back of growing e-commerce sales.

The company, which gets up to 55 percent revenue from online sales, on Thursday launched 15 new televisions that would be exclusively available via e-commerce website Flipkart.

"We would be having a sales of around Rs. 300 crores by the end of next fiscal. We are targeting to sell around 100,000 TV sets in the market by that time and majority of them would come from online sales," VU Technologies Design Head and CEO Devita Saraf said.

The range launched in exclusive tie-up with Flipkart is priced between Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 9,00,000. The new range features sizes between 19 inches and 85 inches, covering almost all TV sizes. Vu's 4K range is Android powered.

"We are providing latest Ultra HD or 4K technology at affordable prices. It is 40 percent cheaper than other TV makers," Saraf said, adding that now Vu's television sizes and configurations compete with the likes of Sony, Samsung and LG.

Flipkart, which is currently having around 15 percent revenue from sales of TV and mobile phone segment is expecting it to grow further.

Flipkart VP retail Amitesh Jha: "Electronics good today are playing a major role in driving the e-commerce industry. Consumers online are not just looking for high-tech features, they are also going by brand repute and innovation in technology. Micromax launches two 4K UHD TVs starting from Rs 39,990 for the 42-inch model

Micromax has some new announcement in the TV segment. It is launching 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs. The TVs will come in two variants – the 42-inch Micromax 42C0050UHD and the 49-inch Micromax 50K2330UHD.

The unique aspect of these new launches are their pricing. The 42-inch one will cost Rs 39,990 and the 49-inch one will come at Rs 49,990. As far as 4K UHD TVs go, these are the lowest prices we have seen.

Both the TVs will be selling exclusively on Flipkart from 13th March onwards. The 49-inch TV comes with a golden-coloured metal frame and glass-finish back and has 2x HDMI and 3x USB ports whereas the 42-inch TV comes with 3x HDMI and 3x USB ports. Both TVs will have a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

Micromax has also ensured that both the TVs are smart TVs thanks to the fact that both TVs run Android OS. The 42-incher runs Android 4.2 whereas the 49-inch one runs Android 4.4. Both TVs will have access to the Google Play Store. It will also come with pre-loaded apps such as Facebook. Twitter, Gmail and so on.

Navigation will be via a Smart Somato-Sensory remote control, which works similar to the air mouse. This makes navigation around the smart TV easy and also works as a controller for a lot of the pre-installed games.

The TVs come with a 2.2GB of internal storage, which is expandable to 32GB. It houses a dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. Other features include DLNA, Wi-fi, screen mirroring, USB connectivity and HDMI ports.
