F.A.L.T.U: Enjoyable with all its faults

FALTU is the story of 4 friends, of which 3 are faltu (useless) when it comes to studies. Ritesh, Puja, and Nanj barely pass and are not able to get seats in any of the universities. Vishnu on the other hand scored 94% and got into the best college in town. Despite this, his father disapproves of him and is constantly breathing down his neck for the extra percentage. Under severe pressure from their parents, the 3 faltus with some help with Vishnu, decides to create admission letters of a fake college. They take the help of Google (Arshad Warsi) and Bajirao (Ritesh Deshmukh) to stage a fake college for a day to show their parents. They name the college as Fakirchand and Lakirchand Trust University (FALTU) All hell breaks lose when hundreds of students register through the website and shows up the college.

The story demands suspension of disbelief and if you are able to do that, FALTU is very enjoyable. The movie is a remake of the English film Accepted. Interestingly, the university in Accepted is called S.H.I.T ( South Harmon Institute of Technology). FALTU raises some pertinent points about our education system. Lack of opportunities for higher studies for those who pass and doesn't score too many. Also, about the viability of higher education in terms of employability.

Movie is packed with good performances from all the leads. Arshad Warsi is brilliant as Google and Puja Gupta is stunning as Puja. Technically, the movie is brilliant with great camera work and editing. Direction is top notch. Watch out for the mindblowing choreography in the last song. Music is pretty good with couple of good party songs. There is a song in the movie which was taken with a single shot. In the theatre, only 30 seconds of the song was shown and the rest was cut. Not sure if its a censor cut since it showed two gay students.

TL;DR: FALTU is a enjoyable movie, provided you can suspend your disbelief for two hours.
