Karthi in an interview to a newspaper said: "Shankar's story was very impressive. My characterisation will also be quiet neat. It will be a satire on society and the script has several interesting elements to make it entertaining."

Shankar Dayal had earlier worked as an assistant to directors Ezhlil and S T Sabha.

In Saguni, Karthi’s next film in the pipeline, he will sport a very different look. The star agreed to try a different get up when director Shankar Dayal suggested it. Apparently, in Saguni Karthi plays a young social reformer and the director felt that his present looks will not go well with the role.
When enquired about Karthi’s get up, we were told that he will look like his dad Siva Kumar in his younger days. This has naturally created a lot of expectations in Kollywood because fans would be glad to see a resemblance of Siva Kumar in his younger son.

Karthi's new film titled Saguni

Three days back we had broke the news that Karthi is signing his next film with debutant director Shankar Dayal.

Today it is officially announced that the film is being titled Saguni.

Earlier, Karthi in an interview to a newspaper said: "Shankar's story was very impressive. My characterisation will also be quiet neat. It will be a satire on society and the script has several interesting elements to make it entertaining."

The story, screenplay, dialogue and direction of Saguni are by Shankar Dayal. GV Prakash will be the music director and the movie will have cinematography by PG Muthiah, art by Rajeevan and editing by Antony. The heroine and rest of the cast will be finalised soon.

Saguni is being made under the banner Team Warrior Pictures and the shooting will start this month.
