Very correct. This has proved that making a 13 crore movie in Mollywood is no longer a risk and that it can recover double the amount.
Earlier there was a question whether big budget flicks like Pazhassi, Urumi and Christian Brothers had recovered the money though all of them had made good collections.
But here this movie is going to be a sure shot hit. Expecting more of such movies.
The producer had said in an interview that if he had compromised on the budget and shot quickly then this movie would not have been as beautiful as it is now. Moreover the cast and crew are serious about cinema be it Prithviraj, Parvathy, director Vimal and the producers. They are here not just to make money but ultimately the movie made money.
Ustad hotel was a low budget movie. So the producer and distributor also should be happy with whatever collections he got. Since this is Dulquar's second movie it would have been purchased at a very low rate by distributors
Moreover outside Kerala market was not that active at that time before Drishyam and Blore days. There was a very limited release outside Kerala. So there is a limit to the maximum a film can collect. No movie other than superstar ones collected more than 15 crores at that time. Mollywood started seeing 30 crores to 50 crores after the release of some ATBB's in 2013 till 2015 which brought in tremendous collections from outside Kerala.
