After a long wait, the trailer of Akshay Kumar starrerBabyis finally out.
With hashtags like #WaitingForBabyTrailer and #WaitingForBaby trending on Twitter, the trailer for Akshay's latest was one of the most awaited ones and for a good reason.
The trailer promises an action-packed film and an excellent star cast. Of course, that does not really include Akshay Kumar, who does probably the only thing he is good at throughout the trailer: Beat people up and break stuff.
The few times Akshay gets to talk in the trailer is not impressive."If we get Bilal, then that will be a big blow to them,"says Akshay in the trailer, in an accent which makes it seem like he had to repeat that line at least a hundred times before he finally got all the words right.
In a scene, Akshay is seen interrogating Sushant Singh. By this time it is pretty clear that Akshay's character is that of a special force officer. In the scene, Singh asks Akshay why did the former slap him even after he has told everything. To which Akshay, in the most Bollywood-way possible, says:Aadat hai!
Akshay's response is not only cheesy but also tells the audience what to expect from the fim. However, people who do make the trailer exciting include Kay Kay Menon.
One can't help but laugh and admire Kay Kay's acting when his character says that since Kasab was held in an air-conditioned cell, it's only natural that he get an AC room because he's worse than Kasab.
Danny Denzongpa, sporting a suave skinhead, is the pleasant surprise in the trailer and, if the teaser is any indication, he is the good guy who wants the bad guys dead. Danny looks as badass and tough as his character in16 December, the 2002 spy thriller film in which Denzongpa was very convincing in his role as the head of an anti-terrorism body.
Anupam Kher is also shown in a new avatar in the film. Kher dons a wig and looks much younger than his age. Will we see him performing action stunts?
What the trailer does not reveal is why the movie is called 'Baby'. However, the trailer is an intriguing one, which hints towards a mysterious, twisting and exciting plot -- hallmarks of a good spy thriller.
The trailer ends with a dramatic and well-said tagline:History is made by those who give a damn.
Let's hope, though, that the the effort to portray patriotism does not turn into jingoism in the film
