Baahubali 2' (Bahubali): Lavanya Tripathi roped in to play Rana Daggubati's wife in 'The Conclusion
Actress Lavanya Tripathi, who is basking in the success of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", has reportedly been cast to play Rana Daggubati's wife in SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Conclusion".
"Baahubali: the Beginning" featured Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva and Adivi Sesh as his son Bhadra, but the movie did not give show Rana's character's wife. Now, its sequel -- "The Conclusion" -- is said to have some scenes featuring Bhallaladeva's wife. Speculations were made about the suitable actress for the role in the movie.
It is reported that actresses Lavanya, Shruti Haasan and Shriya Saran were top contenders for the role of Bhallaladeva's wife in "Baahubali: The Conclusion". SS Rajamouli has reportedly cast Lavanya for the role and he thinks that she would be perfect for hunk Rana Daggubati. The actress is said to be very happy about the role.
The team of "Baahubali" has already completed 40% of the shooting for "The Conclusion". The unit has planned to start filming for the remaining portion in December 2015. The portions of Bhallaladeva's wife and a few other important scenes will reportedly be canned in the first schedule.
Lavanya Tripathi started her career as an actress in Hindi TV serials and she made her debut in films like SS Rajamouli's maiden production "Andala Rakshasi" (2012), which gave her a break in the industry. Later, she featured in "Doosukeltha", "Brahman", "Manam" and "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy".
It should be mentioned here that the rumours about Rajamouli casting Lavanya for "Baahubali" first emerged in February 2013. "After an extensive search for the second female lead, the director decided to zero in on Lavanya. She has completed her audition and look test for the movie just a few days ago and the director is happy with the results," a source had told The Times of India.
It was also reported that the actress was instructed by Rajamouli to lie low until a formal announcement about it is made. When the rumours about her casting surfaced on the web, Lavanya had denied auditioning for "Baahubali". She had expressed surprise, saying, "From where these rumors have begun."
