Thumbs up Su.. Su.. Sudhi Vathmeekam - The Most Touching movie I have ever seen so far!

Let me start of with saying that It played in Calgary, Canada -->

To All Those Who Have Not Seen It: NOTE- THIS IS NOT A DRY DRAMA FILM, it is a FEEL GOOD FILM THAT ENTERTAINS & TOUCHES YOU THOROUGHLY... The film has very good humour and the film is enjoyable throughout because of such fine execution of all departments!!!... MUST WATCH GUYS!!

    Now on to the Review!

Story: A story of a stammerer who struggles to meet day to day activities and his own work due to his issue of stuttering. The incidents in his life make up the story. The story is very down to earth and real which makes the film extra great.

About the movie: The film is NOT a typical underdog story, it gives us a HOPE and SELF-ESTEEM. You feel the emotions of the Sudhi Vathmeekam throughout and you feel you are in his shoes in his ups and downs. When he is sad you are sad and when he wants to be confident for himself you want to feel the same way for him. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A REMARKABLE FILM EXPERIENCE!
No film have I seen, have I rooted for such a character throughout. This is due to the outstanding brilliance of the directors making and without a doubt with a very realistic portrayal by Jayettan.

    Performances:
JAYETTAN: Best performance in his career! he was not acting, he was living as Sudhi Vathmeekam. They amount of consideration for each of his mannerisms throughout the character life is well noticed. They way he walks, the amount of stutters and so on. The most incredible thing is knowing that he had to dub for the same dialogues itself with as near perfection as he did act it. This is one of those performances or roles in which you cannot see any other actor do or portray with such perfection as Jayasurya. Deserves a standing ovation for this film. This years Best Actor Award should be undoubtedly given to him because this was not at all an easy character to do as he had to carefully execute a stammerer with variations throughout different scenarios and ages. It's not at all easy to make us feel the character as a solid human being either, because I felt the characters emotions and feelings while watching. There was no glimpse of the actor Jayasurya it was only SUDHI VATHMEEKAM

Aju Varghese: Definitely one of his career's best roles, he was also at top-notch in his portrayal of the character. He is not a typical sidekick that you see Aju do. But he is also a solid well rounded character who travels through his own struggles to become an actor. He played the role of a good friend who there for Sudhi and understands him when no one does. This much different than his roles that he has done so far. Aju can keep Greygon Das as his best performance till date and also one of the MANY things great in this movie

Shivada: Great performance as Kalyani, did not feel as if she was a fairly new actress either. She was convincing as a speech therapist and there was some background for her presence unlike most heroine characters. Unlike most heroine characters she also serves a purpose for the storyline. She was also a perfect casting, she performed to her best. Which is evident as she was able to convey Kalyani's emotions and motivation to Sudhi as well as the audience!

Swathi: Was good and did not feel at all that she was a new actress either. She played the role convincingly and is a great find by the director.

TG Ravi: I loved his portrayal and character in the film so much. The film offers so much realism and light hearted enjoyable moments through his portrayal as Sudhi's father. He is the perfect father that one can hope for such a character of Sudhi and does the role justice. Had great chemistry with KPAC Lalitha who played Sudhi's mother and had some of the best scenes in the film. He had very great performance in the film and I cannot believe why he hasn't got any other father roles. He was completely apt and was an apt casting by Ranjith Sankar.

KPAC Lalitha: Just like TG Ravi, was amazing like always in this movie. There was some solid chemistry between TG Ravi which benefited the film a lot! She is good in every role. I am glad that we have got some great likable father-mother characters after a long time through this film, in which KPAC Lalitha and TG Ravi both did justice.

Mukesh: not much to do, self trolling was enjoyable and gutsy for an character like himself. He plays himself in the film
Sunil Sukhada: entertaining and did his role well.

Everyone else did their role perfectly and the highlight is that all are perfect castings by the director.

    Positives:
    Everything in short!
    Acting-Direction-Cinematography(very natural/nature based)-AptMusic-Script-Editing
    Everything...!

    Negatives:
nothing really, some may feel some lag in between but there barely much and can even be avoided as a negative because the film is made that well.

To conclude- This is the BEST Film I have seen so far this year. This is a personal opinion, I enjoy movies that can entertain me and both give me something to think about after I leave the theatre. This film was one that did. I kid you not I will be genuinely petitioning Kerala State Film Awards if Jayasurya is not awarded for this performance.

This is the first film in Indian Cinema I believe that focuses on the issues of stammering/stuttering and that too making the lead role a stammerer/stutterer. So I hope Jayasurya can achieve a National Award for this film as well.

This film is another film we can be proud of as an industry as it continues the saga of well made films but one that is first tackle this subject and is made so perfectly for the audience. I would recommend anyone to watch this film, it also displays much of the realistic Malayalee life which is missing from Malayalam movies for a while.

My favourite scenes was when Sudhis friends are in the kitchen with his Amma (KPAC Lalitha) making dosas, it was quite natural and showed real friendship. The film gave me goosebumps throughout in the second half, but the bangalore bus scene was outstanding! You root for the character of Sudhi so much and feel so proud at that scene!..

    RATING : 4.5/5
Best film & character of Jayasurya and Best film in Ranjith Sankar's character.
Undoubtedly the best performance of 2015 too.

Entha para valathe oru feel tharunna padam aanu Su..Su.. Sudhi Vathmeekam.. It is MUST WATCH! I will be definitely buying the DVD when it comes out. I would watch it again if it showed again here too.
