To bring out the romance in odiyan song at this age..will be unthinkable for his peers.
The kind of magic he weaves with his eyes in those menacing stares in Lucifer has never been done in a mass movie in indian cinema period. He reinvented his own mass avatar in a more restrained way with more impact.
Drishyam proves beyond doubt that when we got an opportunity to do an apple-apples comparison his unique performance conveyed the clarity needed for the character better than his peers.
All of this he did after 2010 and that too in commercial movies and I have not even mentioned all good ones during this time. Yes he may not be that inspired at this age to seek out good roles.
He was always laidback in his approach and as you said did any roles that came his way without ego. I see that as his own confidence in his skill which others lack and hence may need to constantly guard their image.
Even today i saw fans arguing here to strike out some comments made in refrence to Mams stage fear as if it would hurt his image...enthayalam rajavinu cherna prajakal thane...
