I think the gulf has become wider over the years , even top European teams are finding it difficult to beat teams like Croatia / Denmark / Swiss / Sweden etc , now it has become more or less a level playing field
Now Brazil and Argentina both ditched their traditional styles to get "results" , a more defense oriented approach
