Following their first Serie A title in more than three decades, Napoli fans swarmed the streets as they celebrated the victory.
On Thursday, Napoli sealed its third championship with a 1-1 draw at Udinese. The team also accomplished the feat in 1987 and 1990. Football great Diego Maradona served as the captain of both of those squads.
Thirty-three years between championships is a long time, and when the streak was finally broken, the city of Naples erupted in celebration.
The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples was open for fans to watch the game against Udinese on giant screens and a capacity crowd of more than 50,000 showed up, setting off fireworks at the final whistle.
