Ranikanth is set to portray a police officer in the suspenseful thriller, where he will be depicted as battling against staged encounters.
The film is set in Kanyakumari, the Southern district of Tamil Nadu, and Rajinikanth will be seen speaking Kanyakumari slang Tamil in the film. This is the first time the actor is making such an attempt.
The shooting of 'Thalaivar 170' will be commencing the second week of October, and the film's initial shoot will happen at Trivandrum in Kerala. Following that, the team will film in locations around Nagercoil and Kanyakumari
