He has done a terrific performance as the Godfather. in his young age.
His mannerisms, steps are excellent.
On par or above par with Dileep's effiminate role in Chanthupottu.
Ajith is not having a full length role as Dileep.. Still he has given a terrific performance..

Chiranjeevi to do `Godfather’ remake?
By Moviebuzz | Wednesday, 25 October , 2006, 15:03
Megastar Chiranjeevi was supposed to do the Telugu remake of Lage Raho Munnabhai but after seeing Ajit’s Tamil film Godfather, the Diwali hit, he is in two minds. Chiru liked the film and was very impressed by it and called up its director K.S.Ravikumar to congratulate him.
Now the latest we hear is that Chiranjeevi is interested in doing this remake first. What impressed the actor was the triple role done by Ajit as father and two sons. In the flashback, one of the characters shown in the film is an effeminate classical dancer which clicked with the audience of Tamilnadu.
The grapevine has it that Chiranjeevi sees great commercial potential in Godfather.

Varalaaru withstands HEAVY RAINS.....
Amidst the films this Deepavali, Ajit's Varalaru took a bumper opening. Though the movie was in the cans for a long time, it managed to draw good crowds on its release.
Featuring Ajit in three roles, the movie has won plaudits for Ajit's histrionics as a bharathanatyam dancer. Added to Ajit's charisma, the presence of big names like K S Ravikumar, A R Rehman and Asin worked out well in their favour.
The movie opened to 100 per cent collection at all the 22 theatres where it was screened in the Chennai and its suburbs. In spite of monsoon rain and the cricket fever gripping youth, Varalaru continues to put up a decent show. Varalaru has netted huge revenue in several centres.
All other movies including Thalaimagan, Dharmapuri and Vattaram have witnessed just lukewarm response which has sent shock waves in the industry. Amidst half-a-dozen other films released this Deepavali, Varalaru has clearly emerged the winner pipping out others in the Deepavali race.

Ajit cuts Simbu to size!
By Moviebuzz | Saturday, 04 November , 2006, 12:10
Before the release of Vallavan and Varalaaru , Simbu had told his close friends that he is getting two huge screens on Mount Road, Chennai- Devi and Sathyam big screen with combined seating capacity of over 2500 seats to screen his film.
Simbu wanted to prove that he is one-up on Ajit by saying that his film will take a better opening than Varalaaru. The trade however played it cool and never bothered to reply as they thought that it was “immature talk”!
Sathyam cinemas later played neutral as they gave two shows each for Ajit and Simbu at big screen and two shows at small Sree theatre. A peeved Simbu said that his film will replace ‘Thalai’ and he will get four shows at big Sathyam in two weeks.
But now (from Nov 3) the big news is that Varalaaru has grabbed all the four shows at the big screen while Vallavan has been shifted to the smaller screen!
The moral of the story- “Never count your chickens before they are hatched”.
