    Aalwar` preponed!

    By Moviebuzz | Sunday, 05 November , 2006, 08:50

Ajit’s Aalwar is likely to be preponed to December 15 from its original Pongal 2007 release! Producer Mohan Natarajan and distributors want to cash in on Ajit’s new found star status after the success of Varalaaru.
Now the climax of the film is being shot in Hyderabad. Malayalam actor Lal who played villain in Sandakozhi plays the bad guy in Aalwar. The confrontation scenes, climax and action between Lal and Ajit is said to be the major highlight of the film.

Another reason for Aalwar being postponed is that the producer does not want the film to clash with too many Pongal releases. They feel that a solo release will ensure a better opening.

The post production work is going on simultaneously and it will be an Ajit film which will be completed on time, after many years.

    Thalai's big bash!

    By Moviebuzz | Thursday, 09 November , 2006, 09:30

Ajit hosted a big Varalaaru success party for the press at the Park Sheraton in Chennai on Wednesday (8th Nov) evening. It was just an informal get together, with no speeches or lengthy presentations, which made it memorable.
Ajit who was suited and booted camein with wife Shalini in a green georgette sari and the couple looked gorgeous as they mingled with journalists. All the journos congratulated Ajit for the super success of Varalaaru, and he went out of his way to take photographs with them.

The 'ultimate star' had just returned from Hyderabad, where he had completed the entire shoot of Aalwar. Ajit confirmed the Sify.com news that they are trying their best to release the film on Dec 15. A solo release instead of a cluttered Pongal festival release will ensure a bigger opening.

Ajit is now totally devoted to his work and is hoping to have at least two releases every year. Right now everybody wants to sign him up including corporate's from Mumbai.

As of now Ajit will start work for Suresh Balajee-Adlabs Kireedom(title may change) by the month end. After completing the film he will move on to his next project for producer –distributor Ananda Suresh.

Ajit has only those two films on his plate at the moment. He has not committed to anybody including A.M. Ratnam who has been going around saying that the star is doing his next film. Ajit is clear that he will start looking at future projects only by the middle of next year.

    Ajith's 'Varalaru' gets great opening

Not one or two, but seven Tamil films released this Diwali. And the clear winner is the Ajith starrer 'Varalaru', which was previously titled 'Godfather'.

The top five Tamil films are:

    1. 'Varalaru' - Director: K.S. Ravi Kumar. No other actor except Rajnikanth gets the kind of opening that Ajith receives for his films. 'Varalaru' got 100 percent opening. It's good news for Ajith that all those who watched it are happy with the film and are raving about his performance. The film is on its way to becoming a big hit.

    2. 'Vallavan' - Director: Silambarsan. Expectations were high from the film, which was in the making for over a year. It got an excellent opening, too, but started sliding after the second day. 'Vallavan' can be termed as the biggest disappointment among all the Diwali releases.

    3. 'E' - Director: S.P.Jhananathan. Jhananathan is the National Award-winning director of 'Iyarkai'. 'E' is different from the usual mainstream films though he has tried to include some commercial elements to make it appealing. The success of 'E' can be a matter of pride for the director and the producer. Of course, credit goes to Jeeva too for delivering a mind-blowing performance.

    4. 'Vattaram' - Director: Saran. Another disappointing Diwali fare. This is going to be Saran's second disaster after 'Idhaya Thirudan'.

    5. 'Dharmapuri' - Director: Perarasu. This Vijayakanth film may not appeal to the urban audience but there is a huge population out there in the B and C centres who will lap it up. 'Dharmapuri' appears to be a propaganda film for Vijayakanth and his political party.

    ‘Aalwar’ to arrive early
    By MIO Team

It’s not surprising when films get delayed, as it happens very often but it comes as a surprise when the makers of ‘Aalwar’ decide to release it before the scheduled time. This film starring Ajit and Asin was supposed to hit the theatres on Pongal 2007 but it is now likely to see the light of the day on December 15.

Producer Mohan Natarajan and distributors are planning to release the film before schedule because Ajit is on a new high after the success of his recent release ‘Varalaaru’. Moreover, they feel that it would have better opening sans competition from big films that are slated for Pongal release.

The shooting for the climax portion is currently on in Hyderabad. The climax and confrontation scenes between Ajith and villain Lal are said to be major attractions of the film.
