Meera Chopra wanted in a murder case

An FIR was registered against actress Meera Chopra in a case related to the murder of a Delhi housewife. They have filed a case against her under Section 120B of the IPC.


Meera Chopra who is known for films like Bangaram and Vaana in Telugu is being pursued by police in connection with the death of a 28-year-old married woman Ruchi Bhuttan, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in Delhi.


While victim Ruchi`s in-laws claimed it was suicide, her relatives suspected foul play and blamed her husband Sumit Bhuttan.


Apparently, Sumit has an extra marital relationship with Meera Chopra. According to Ruchi's dairy, her husband Sumit used to insult her by comparing her looks with Meera Chopra.


As of now, the police is yet to ascertain Meera`s involvement in the murder-suicide mystery. Investigations are on and it is being said that after Meera is arrested she would be taken to court for further inquiry to ascertain her role in the case.


Meera Chopra is also related to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra but both of them are not on talking terms. She made her debut in Telugu with Bangaram and later she shifted her base to Chennai and did few films in Tamil.


In 2008, she made a come back to Telugu films with M S Raju's Vaana and also appeared in bilingual Jaganmohini.


Maaro - her recent film with Nitin, was released a month ago.

Genelia to marry boyfriend next year?

Buzz is that Genelia will announce her relationship with boyfriend and actor Ritesh Deshmukh to the media and public officially.


As she is planning to settle down in life with Ritesh by next year, Genelia no longer wants her relationship a secret. According to a daily, Ritesh and Genelia "walked hand-in-hand at a recent awards function, even in the presence of mom D'Souza, who only looked too happy with the couple's close camaraderie."


Genelia is currently shooting for Naa Ishtam with Rana for the debutant director Prakash. She also has another commitment in Telugu. So, she is planning to get married next year.


And according to the newspaper, she will also have two wedding ceremonies.

Arya injured

Take a look at actor Arya's forehead in this picture! At first look, it may appear as 'vibuthi', but it's not! The actor recently had a small accident while attending an event in Chennai and had to get three stitches on his forehead. But in spite of the injury, Arya managed to attend good friends' Selvaraghavan and Karthi's reception which took place in Chennai.
On the career front, Arya is currently busy with Lingusamy's Vettai, in which he shares screen space with Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul.

mamta opposite Arun Vijay



After playing in six back-to-back Malayalam films, popular South Indian actress-singer Mamta Mohandas, who recently won the Filmfare Award (best actress) for Kadha Thudarunnu, has signed a Tamil film Thadaiyara Thaakka, starring young Arun Vijay in the lead.
According to sources, the film has two female leads: Mamta and Rakul Preet Singh. Bollywood actress Prachi Desai was earlier roped in for the female lead in this film, but recently opted out of Thadaiyara Thaakka for some reason.

What's happening in Ajith's 'Billa 2'?



This will be Chakri Toleti's second directorial venture in Tamil the first being 'Unaipol Oruvan' with Kamal Haasan which garnered a lot of critical popularity. Now with him in the director's chair for 'Billa 2' as well as a huge star cast, and the earlier successes the sequel's predecessors have seen, a lot of expectations are banking on this mega project.
Apart from Ajith, Prabhu Ganesan and Rahman, the entire cast and crew have been reshuffled. The lead lady's role has gone to a model Huma Qureshi. KK who played a minor supporting role in 'Kaavalan' will play a bad cop in 'Billa 2.' Vimala Raman and Sudhanshu Pandey will be seen in special appearances in this prequel.
Earlier it was believed that Hemant Chaturvedi from Bollywood will be doing the cinematography for this multi starrer, but now it will be RD Rajasekhar at the camera. We had also earlier informed that this film will feature scenes shot using the RED EPIC Camera in 5K resolution. This will be the first Indian film to use this camera for shooting a full length feature film.
Since 'Billa 2' will be a prequel, Ajith's looks have a lot of importance in the film. To look much younger, the actor is working hard on his looks and doing regular workouts. It will be a total contrast (in case of looks) from his soon to be released 'Mankatha' where Ajith will be portrayed in an all natural style inclusive of the salt and pepper hairdo (George Clooney style).
The director has been location hunting and was in Hyderabad recently. Now sources indicate that the first shooting schedule will begin from Hyderabad. Chakri, at the moment, is working with Yuvan Shankar Raja for the music for 'Billa 2.'
It looks like the entire team is really working hard to make sure that this film too is as good as the previous 'Billa' films or even better...

Rajini speaks to Deepika




It was his promise to fans that he would reciprocate to their love by entertaining them more and more. And Superstar Rajinikanth, who would always stick to his words, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure it.
Even as he is taking complete rest on the advice of doctors at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, the numero uno actor is keeping himself busy thinking and discussing about his forthcoming venture 'Rana'.
After speaking over phone with director K S Ravikumar and lyricist Vairamuthu, Rajini recently telephoned Deepika Padukone, one of the heroines of the project, and reportedly told her that the shoot would start in September.
The Bollywood actress, who was so happy to receive a phone call from the Superstar, assured him that she would give her fullest co-operation to the film produced by Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios.

Nayan-Prabhu Deva head to the wedding aisle

The magistrate at the family court in Chennai pronounced Prabhu Deva and Ramlath divorced today. The couple, who married 15 years ago, filed for divorce on mutual agreement six months ago. Initially, Ramlath was not willing for the divorce, but she finally gave in after Prabhu Deva agreed to part with some properties and money.
With Prabhu getting his divorce, he is now free to marry his ladylove Nayanthara. The wedding is expected to take place anytime soon. It may be recalled that Nayan had quit movies to settle for marital bliss with Prabhu.

Watching Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in their seventies hits Apoorva Raagangal, Moondru Mudichu, 16 Vayathinile and Avargal still gives Tamil cinema lovers a high. Though both actors hadn’t attained the dizzying heights in the 70s as they later did, just watching Rajinkanth and Kamal Haasan, whose styles of acting are very diverse, is enough to give a Tamil film aficionado a high.
There has been constant talk and media speculation that Kamal and Rajini will come together if their mentor K Balachander asks them. Or even if someone as renowned as Mani Ratnam expresses his desire to make a film with these stalwarts. That seems like a pipe dream now.
However, cinema lovers are excited at the possibility of watching Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s elder son-in-law and a National Awardwinning actor, romancing the light-eyed, fair-skinned Shruti, Kamal Haasan’s elder daughter.
Says a trade source, “The closest one can get to seeing Rajini and Kamal’s kith interacting will be watching Dhanush romance Shruti in a new film that will be directed by Aishwarya Dhanush. Selvaraghavan (Dhanush’s elder brother) is rumoured to be getting a script ready. This is considered to be the biggest casting coup of the season and a leading film corporation has apparently offered a premium price for this project that may be made under Aishwarya’s home banner itself.’’ We at CT also think that this duo will ignite the screen in their new film.

Mamta replaces Prachi Desai

The makers of Thadaiyara Thaaka are heaving a sigh of relief. After their former leading lady Prachi Desai didn’t get back to them, it was quite a challenge for them to choose a suitable replacement. However, all’s well now as they’ve gone ahead and signed Mamta to replace her.
The actress, we understand, was among the contenders to play the leading lady in the initial stages of casting. Says a source, “In the initial stages, the makers had a list of heroines who could be cast as the leading lady. Mamta was the first choice at that time. But, when they contacted people close to her, they were told that the actress was not keen on doing Tamil films.”
They then approached Prachi Desai and after much fanfare about what could have been her big Kollywood entry, she backed out of the film recently. It was at this point of time that Arun Vijay had sent a legal notice to the actress for wasting the dates and messing up their schedules.
Left in the lurch, the unit went through their original list of heroines thoroughly again and came across Mamta’s name. “This time, they contacted her directly and were told that she was in Bangalore,” a source states, adding, “Mamta told them that the only reason that she wasn’t doing Tamil films was because she was busy with the Malayalam projects she had committed to. But, she liked the Magizh Thirumeni-Arun Vijay project and gave them the green signal.”
The source adds, “Mamta is as good looking as any Bollywood heroine. She’s much soughtafter in Malayalam and has lost oodles of weight in recent times. Most importantly, she can speak Tamil and that’s an added advantage.”
When CT contacted actor Arun Vijay, he said, “We’re very happy that Mamta is part of our project. I’m sure my on-screen chemistry with her will
rock on screen.”
